Quantity Surveyor

Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager, you will provide commercial support across all business streams concerning financial and contractual matters arising through the management of various contracts. Offering support to the Commercial team you will provide assistance to allow projects to be safely delivered on time and to budget.

Key Focus:

  • Maintain and enhance profitability and minimise risk by applying best commercial practice
  • Ensure positive cashflow at all times
  • Report on forecast outturn cost and value and manage change control
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external parties
  • Prepare accurate monthly CVR forecasting of all projects
  • Ability to review and challenge resources and costs compared with agreed budgets and forecasts
  • Maintain deadlines according to monthly reporting calendar

What we are looking for:

  • Degree qualified or professional qualification accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent experience
  • Highly Competent in MS Excel and Word
  • Able to interpret and understand contract documents, scopes of works and contract drawings
  • Skilled in financial cost control, value recovery and change management
  • Experience within the Construction and/or Engineering industry
  • Detailed working knowledge of NEC3 Conditions of Contract

IT Support Analyst

WGM have recognised the need for an IT Support Analyst to help bolster the existing IT & Digital Services team and provide additional IT service support provision across the business and will be based within our Glasgow head office The purpose of this role will be to act as the primary point of contact for all IT issues, and act as the interface between users and external service providers

 

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Provide 1st line support to all staff across all WGM locations. Liaise with external service providers on timely solutions.
  • Coordinate with existing 3rd party service provider on new starts/leavers
  • PC Device Management – manage the logistics involved in old device replacement & new device issue
  • Software Management – manage non-standard software renewals, procurement & licensing as well as fault diagnosis & liaison with 3rd party vendors.
  • Active Directory Maintenance – perform user detail changes when needed to maintain accuracy of this important resource
  • PCs/Multi Function Devices/Smartphones – maintenance coordination, basic fault diagnosis, liaison with suppliers on fault resolution
  • Peripheral item management – maintaining stock levels, issuing new items to staff and maintaining records
  • Triage all reported phishing emails using KnowBe4 & PhishER.
  • Licence portal – procurement of new software licences as and when needed
  • Liaise with 3rd parties regarding old equipment disposal

 

 

To be considered for this position you will have at least 1-2 years previous experience within a similar IT position, you will possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of team. The ideal candidate will be capable of providing effective, high quality, responsive, customer orientated & professional IT telephony and desk based service.

Receptionist

We have a current requirement for a receptionist to join our business based at our head office in Glasgow. The Receptionist/Administrator is the first point of contact for all incoming visitors to WGM and is responsible for handling front office reception and administration duties, including greeting visitors, answering phones, handling company inquiries, and sorting and distributing mail.  The Receptionist/Administrator will also complete administrative tasks on behalf of the Procurement Team.

 

Main duties and responsibilities

 

  • Greet clients and visitors with a positive, helpful attitude
  • Reception cover including answering the telephone in a polite, timely manner and accurately directing calls to the relevant parties
  • Taking accurate messages and passing on to the relevant parties
  • Helping maintain workplace security by issuing, checking and collecting badges as necessary and maintaining visitor logs
  • Dealing with the daily arrival and pick up of post, opening and stamping of incoming mail (both internal and external)
  • Organising internal post to be distributed to the relevant office
  • Managing assigned mailboxes daily ensuring that all mails are actioned in a timely manner or distributed to the relevant parties.
  • Management of the stationery order, control of stock, keeping cupboards tidy and ensuring adequate supplies at all times
  • Setting up and clearing down of meeting rooms
  • Invoicing related duties that may include raising purchase orders and matching invoices with delivery notes
  • Performing ad-hoc administrative duties as required
