Coatings Applicator

As a result of our ongoing growth, we are now recruiting for specialist Coatings Applicators to join our Engineered Solutions Team. The successful Coatings Applicators will work as part of a team delivering the highly successful WGM Coatings business offering. The successful candidate will have previous experience in specialised applications and will be passionate about providing an excellent service to our clients.

What you’ll be doing

  • Safe Delivery of the Coatings Business
  • Involved in the planning of tasks from job initiation through to the scheduled delivery
  • Carry out and record all work quality documentation
  • Responsible for the delivery of work quality
  • Build and continually develop product knowledge and awareness
  • Flexible across the varied work fronts
  • Able to work in confined spaces
  • Responsible for the delivery of work targets
  • Assists with job planning
  • Supports other Delivery streams as deemed necessary
  • Creation of Risk Assessment documentation, safety documentation and Method Statements
  • Works to gain NACE accreditation where requested
  • Works to gain other certifications within the Coatings business

What are we looking for?

  • NACE Accreditation
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Previous Coatings experience (preferably with Belzona or similar frameworks)
  • CSCS/EUSR card holder (desirable)
  • DOMS and Water Hygiene (desirable)
  • Confined Space Entry Certificate
  • Overhead pendant crane/gantry crane training
  • Lifting Operations training

Electrical Estimator

We are looking to recruit an experienced Estimator with an Electrical bias to join our Projects Team at an exciting time as we continue to grow. As the Electrical Estimator, you will be involved with various high value projects and will have responsibility for producing estimates in line with our clients requirements.

Key Focus:

  • Preparing Electrical estimates from a varied range of works
  • Reviewing and appraising supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Producing a base estimate, taking into consideration any exemptions and identifying key risks
  • Estimating Project Risk Registers
  • Liaising with a number of stakeholder within the business – Project Managers; Project Engineers; Technical & Design and Commercial personnel to successfully complete the estimate development process.
  • Preparing estimates that support contractual change control
  • Reporting on any challenges post estimate completion
  • Managing both internal and external stakeholders

What we are looking for?

  • Educated to a degree/HND level in Electrical Engineering. Alternatively have a qualification in Quantity Surveying
  • Experience of working within the Waste and Water industry is beneficial but not essential
  • At least two years’ experience in preparing MEICA estimates
  • A real team player with good time management, organisational and IT skills
  • A demonstrable ability to interpret and communicate complex technical information

WGM Engineering have an excellent opportunity for a labourer to join our Engineering solutions team, the role will be based between our workshop in Livingston and various operational site across the central belt of Scotland.

As a Labourer you will report into the Fabrication Supervisor. You will be responsible for ensuring that site works are carried out efficiently in adherence to the required standards whilst adhering to company Health & Safety legislation.

 

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Be competent in the use of small tools and driven plant holding the correct certification to complete the works
  • Using hand machinery: drills, pumps and compressors
  • Complete appropriate paperwork for your daily works (job sheets / risk assessments / plant sheets / van sheets).
  • Ensure you are briefed on RAMS for each job.
  • Experience of risk assessment and hazard identification and a strong focus on health and safety requirements and responsibilities.
  • Maintain company HSEQ standards to ensure continued compliance with legislation and industry standards.
  • Organises work well, planning effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Assist in all workshop/site duties as deemed necessary.
  • Work with all areas across the business to ensure compliance with processes and delivery of service.
  • Cleaning and maintaining tools and other equipment.

 

To be considered for this position you will have at least 1-2 years previous experience within a similar role ideally within an engineering background, the ideal candidate will have excellent work ethic and have the ability to work as part of team as well and on your own.
