Sustainability Manager

We have a current requirement for  Sustainability Manager to join the business on a permanent basis, the role will cover our various operations across Scotland on a hybrid working model working between both our Livingston and Glasgow offices. The main purpose of the role is to oversee execution of the Net Zero Route map, which breaks down the challenge into five areas of focus:  On-site project activity, Energy, Transport and Travel, Procurement (Supply Chain) and Project Management (including technical design and Circular Economy principles).

 

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues throughout the business to develop and implement carbon emissions reduction plans (both customer facing project managers and internal support functions, on-site and office based).
  • Establish a system for carbon accounting, which can be applied to business operations and customer projects to demonstrate reductions over time.
  • Engage with strategic customers on emission reduction plans and compliance with their objectives and policies
  • Engage with Procurement team and supply chain, to identify and source low carbon products and materials.
  • Produce carbon related correspondence, reports, and notices for WGM and customers.
  • Provide guidance on matters relating to emissions reduction and energy good practice.
  • Ensure that the company and its stakeholders comply with relevant legislation and that carbon policies and practices are adopted and adhered to
  • Undertake client and WGM joint venture partner compliance audit
  • Chair monthly Environmental champion meetings, where required.
  • Liaise with SEPA or with other government appointed body as required
  • Act as a role model promoting a positive carbon emissions culture by creating enthusiasm for emissions reduction in all activities

 

To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous experience within a Similar level sustainability or environmental  role ideally within an engineering or construction environment, you will have an excellent working knowledge of UK Environmental and energy legislation and an Awareness of ISO14001:2015 standards. Due to the nature of the position a full UK driving license is required as they will be various travel involved.

Electrician

Upon the award of a new long standing contract from Scottish Water we require electricians to join our Fixed Wire Testing workstream. The contract will initially run for 6 years and cover electrical inspections of approximately 2500 Scottish Water assets along with remedial works.

Job details

  • 37.5 hour working week plus Travel Time
  • Rate £17.70ph
  • Laptop, Phone & Van with fuel card
  • Relevant training available (confined space, water hygiene, Amtech/Napit ect)

As an Electrician in the Fixed Wire Testing workstream, you will be responsible for inspection and testing of installations along with production of relevant certification using Amtech or Napit software

What we are looking for?

Working as part of the electrical engineering team the successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Team player who has knowledge of safe systems of work and have served a recognised industrial/commercial electrical Apprenticeship
  • ECS card (essential)
  • Experience of Scottish Water and/or industrial background (desirable)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)
  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/5 Test and Inspection qualified (desirable)
  • Driving Licence (essential)
  • Basic IT skills, Outlook, Excel, word
  • Understanding of electrical certification (training on specific software will be given)

DSEAR Electrician

WGM Engineering have a number of opportunities for DSEAR Electricians working for our E&M division covering various sites throughout the Central belt of Scotland.

The successful candidate will be a time served electrician with a wide experience/understanding of sites layout & operation. You will be expected to demonstrate strong communication skill, read and understand electrical schedules/drawings;

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Knowledge and experience of ATEX Inspections & DSEAR regulations.
  • Team player who has knowledge of safe systems of work and have served a recognised industrial/commercial electrical Modern Apprenticeship
  • ECS card
  • Experience of industrial electrical containment construction to current electrical regulation and WIMES specification
  • CompEx EX01-04 (essential)
  • CompEx EX05-06 (desirable)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)
  • Experience of ATEX inspections & DSEAR regulations (essential)
  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/5 Test and Inspection qualified (desirable)

 

To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous experience of hazardous area inspections ideally within an industrial environment, the ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills and the ability to work as part of team as well and on your own initiative.
